Smart contracts & web2 APIs can now form cone-nections thanks to Gelato's Web3 Functions & @polybase_xyz !
The previous inability to connect smart contracts with web2 APIs created huge barriers to the integration of crucial off-chain resources- but Gelato's Web3 Functions have emerged as a solution!
These stateless scripts can retain data across runs using a key-value store which allows for seamless collaboration between Web3 Functions. Think of this as being like two chefs sharing ingredients in a kitchen.
For instance, consider a lottery system where users join, winners are updated, and the last winner is fetched. In this scenario, Gelato's 'readlogs' function retrieves the participants and updates Polybase, while the 'lottery' Web3 Function selects a random winner and updates the contract.
